
Chieh Huang’s multifaceted career has distinguished her from the rest of the percussion scene. She explores musical arts as a tool and means of communication between the composer or performer and the audience. Her expertise is working with percussion instruments and the Atayal language to incorporate its unique sounds into the composition. Ms. Huang received a master of music degree from the Boston Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts, and won third prize at the 2009 PAS Italy International Marimba Competition. She is pursuing her Ph.D. in Integrated Composition, Improvisation, and Technology (ICIT) at the University of California, Irvine, and her music licensing is represented by Marmoset.
